CELEBRATING THE GOLDEN HOUR: THE NEW APEROL PIAZZA AT VIENNA FILM FESTIVAL

Since 2022, Campari Austria  has trusted us with the Aperol Piazza at Vienna’s Film Festival—transforming their annual presence into a design-led, emotionally engaging brand space (see revolvers Aperol Piazza 2022, revolvers Aperol Piazza 2023, and  revolvers Aperol Piazza 2024). In 2025, Aperol introduced a new visual identity, capturing the warmth and glow of the golden hour through an updated logo, flowing orange wave elements, and a softer, more rounded design language. To reflect this shift, we reimagined the entire Piazza—creating a dynamic, halo-inspired space that feels radiant, fresh, and unmistakably Aperol.

A DESIGN OVERHAUL TO MATCH A BRAND EVOLUTION

For 2025, we redesigned many of the tools and branding elements from the ground up to reflect Aperol’s new look. Circular forms and flowing lines now define the space, giving it a vibrant, immersive energy. At the heart of the redesign stands the new bar crown—an iconic roof construction measuring 11 x 3 meters, making the Aperol bar instantly recognisable from Vienna’s Ringstraße. Sculptural yet airy, it serves as a literal and visual highlight, catching sunlight and glancing evening light alike.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS: WHERE FORM AND GLOW MEET FUNCTION

  • Mini Halos: Every high table now features custom-built oval halo structures, echoing the golden hour theme and creating a soft, glowing ambiance across the terrace.
  • New DJ Booth: The DJ station has been entirely reimagined—a bold, half-round design backed by three sculptural arches that radiate out like a stylised sunset. It’s not just a stage; it’s a centerpiece.
  • Sound Spende Reborn: The former activation tool was reborn as the Aperol Kiosk—a playful merchandise stand offering curated Aperol goodies and t-shirts along with an integrated screen, so the guest can immediately purchase their favourite item. Compact, accessible, and instantly popular, it brought a new dimension of engagement to the Piazza.
  • The New Photo Booth: Inspired by the charm of a classic photo booth, we designed and built an oval-shaped structure entirely clad in flowing orange metal panels. Guests stepped inside to snap fun photos and received a free print-out featuring their top three shots—a playful, physical takeaway in perfect Aperol style.

STAYING TRUE TO THE CONCEPT, ELEVATING THE EXPERIENCE

The rest of the Piazza’s layout and hospitality offering remain consistent with previous years:

  • Modular setup for flexible use during day and evening events
  • Custom furniture crafted from metal, Kambala, and teak wood
  • Integrated greenery providing both structure and a natural flow
  • A generous seating area for up to 200 guests, supported by a 25-person team delivering best-in-class service

This year’s Aperol Piazza didn’t just evolve—it radiated. Every design detail was guided by the brand’s new identity and grounded in our core goal: to create an atmospheric, functional space that invites people to pause, connect, and celebrate summer together. Whether basking in the late afternoon glow or dancing under the arches, guests experienced Aperol as it was meant to be—social, vibrant, and unmistakably golden.
