To enhance the summer evening experience for the prestigious visitors of the Salzburger Festspiele, we were entrusted with the complete redesign of the Stiegl summer lounge, located in front of the iconic Festspielhaus in Salzburg. This project allowed us to combine timeless elegance with functional design to craft an inviting space that perfectly complemented the grandeur of the festival.
Design & Features
At the center of the lounge stood a circular bar, crowned with a large parasol and adorned with Stiegl's signature branding. We re-designed this existing bar, by adding real oak wood countertops to add warmth and sophistication, elevating the aesthetic of the space. We powder coated the complete bar in a sophisticated custom gold tone and also added new branding. Surrounding the bar, we designed a comfortable and stylish seating arrangement featuring lounge chairs and matching oak wood high tables.
To make a bold first impression, two striking Stiegl logos marked the entrance, creating a welcoming gateway into the lounge. For added functionality and cohesion, the parasol stands were seamlessly integrated into the design with custom-built lounge tables that balanced practicality and elegance.
Subtle string lighting was carefully placed to enhance the summer evening ambiance, and fragrant herbs lined the terrace and entrance, adding a sensory layer of freshness and vibrancy to the space.
A Cultural Highlight
The Salzburger Festspiele is one of the most renowned festivals for classical music and opera, running annually since the 1920s. Set in the heart of Salzburg, this festival attracts over 250,000 visitors each year, making it an iconic event on the cultural calendar.
The Stiegl Sommerlounge was open throughout the entirety of the Salzburger Festspiele, operating for an impressive six weeks and offering visitors a stylish and refreshing retreat to enjoy the festival atmosphere.
Our Role
For this project, we were responsible for the full design and build-up of the lounge, ensuring every detail reflected the elegance and heritage of both Stiegl and the Salzburger Festspiele.
